Hi, I’m Suzanne Nicklas, Registered Nurse, IBCLC, Doula, and Ayurvedic Practitioner, based in beautiful Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
For over fifteen years, I’ve had the joy of walking beside families through one of life’s most sacred transitions... welcoming a new baby. My background in nursing and lactation has allowed me to support hundreds of parents through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Each family I work with deepens my belief that how we care for mothers shapes the health and heart of our world.
My path into wellness began in 2010 with health coaching through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and it has evolved ever since. Over the years, I’ve studied yoga, aromatherapy, and Reiki, blending these holistic traditions with the grounding of my nursing background. This love of merging conventional and alternative care led me to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, the science of life.
As a 600-hour Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, I bring Ayurveda’s gentle, intuitive approach into my doula and lactation work. I see each mother as unique... her needs, her rhythms, her story... and I draw on Ayurvedic principles to help her find balance, nourishment, and vitality in the tender window of pregnancy and postpartum.
Whether we’re creating a postpartum care plan, supporting infant feeding, or simply sharing a cup of herbal tea and conversation, my goal is always the same: to nurture you as you nurture your baby.
All of my services, Ayurvedic doula care, lactation support, and wellness consultations are available in person and virtually. I also offer Beach Yoga classes during the summer months here in Coastal Southern Maine, bringing together breath, movement, and the healing energy of the ocean.
As the mother of four amazing humans, I know firsthand the beauty and the challenges of motherhood. My own birth experiences inspired my life’s work, to hold space, to listen, and to remind mothers that they are enough, just as they are.
I am deeply honored to do this work and grateful that you’ve found your way here.
I look forward to walking this path with you, with warmth, wisdom, and care.
